Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya to hoist tricolour in Silchar on Independence Day

Aug 14: Minister of Excise, Forest & Environment and Fisheries, Government of Assam, Parimal Suklabaidya will hoist the tricolour at 9 AM at DSA, Silchar during the 75th Independence Day celebration. In this connection, District Administration, Cachar has organised a day-long programme. DC Cachar has asked the people to participate in the programmes abiding the existing Covid-19 protocols.

At 5.30 AM, on 15 August, 2021, the programme will began by playing patriotic songs at the sound system installed in various parts of Silchar town. This will be followed by unfurling the National Flag at private organisations and residence of the public at 7 AM.

Abiding the Covid directives, the National Flag will be hoisted at all government offices, schools, colleges etc at 7.45. Floral tributes will be paid at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi situated within the premises of Gandhi Bagh at 8.44 AM, following which the National Flag will be unfurled at DSA Silchar at 9 AM.

At 10 AM, eminent physicians and health workers will be felicitated. Fruits will be distributed among the inmates of Silchar Central Jail by the Food Grains Merchant Association at 11.20 AM. Later on, at 11. 30 AM sweets and fruits will be distributed among the patients admitted at SM Dev Civil Hospital and Silchar Medical College & Hospital by  the Food Grains Merchant Association, Rotary Club of Silchar and others. Finally, at 6 PM, lighting at the statues of the renowned persons and offices will take place.
