11 tests +ve in Cachar on Tuesday, tally reaches 11,123

Active cases 113 in Cachar

Dec. 15: On Tuesday, a total of 11 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1843 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 11 persons were found positive, whereas none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Tuesday night.

With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,123. Further, a total of 10,973 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 113 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 23 persons were found positive in Cachar on Monday.

In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Tuesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 629 persons were collected. 172 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 persons tested positive. Further, 629 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 01 was found positive.

Apart from this, no new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and also none were discharged. At present, there are 15 active patients at SMCH, out of which 04 of them are in critical stage. Those in critical condition are Usha Dutta, BK Jain, Manoj Debroy and Bijon Das. A total of 07 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 04 of them are put under oxygen support and 01 kept in ventilator support. Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none died due to COVID-19 at SMCH.
