1018 tests positive in Assam on Sunday, state tally rises to 23,999

July 19: On Sunday, 1018 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected from across the state. With this, the state tally has gone upto 23,999, out of which, 7916 are active cases. Also, 858 patients were discharged during the day in Assam. Another 4 more persons also died on Sunday due to coronavirus, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 57. In a tweet on Sunday night, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 1018 new #COVID19 ve+ patients reported in Assam today, with 577 cases from Guwahati City alone. Important to follow containment measures.”
