3054 tests +ve in Assam on Thursday including 192 in Cachar; tally rises to 1,18,333
Active cases 29,274 in Assam
September 3: Thursday also recorded a huge number of positive cases in Assam. A total of 3054 persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam with Kamrup Metro leading the tally by 735 fresh cases. Dibrugarh was in the next position with 198 positive cases. With 192 new cases, Cachar was 3rd in the state Covid tally. With this, the state tally has now gone upto 1,18,333, out of which, 29,274 are active cases.
In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 3054 #COVID cases detected today out of 48846 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 6.25% Kamrup M- 735; Dibrugarh- 198; Cachar- 192; Hojai- 176.” Further, 8 more persons died in Assam due to COVID-19, thereby taking the death toll of the state to 330.
