2 major accidents took place in Kalain area of Cachar on the day of Eid, many injured

May 3: Though not fatal, yet two major street accidents took place in Kalain area of Cachar district on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr. The first incident took place at around 11.30 in the morning at a place called Padritila in Kalain- Silchar road. There was a head-on collision between a Maruti Swift car and a Cruiser vehicle. Three persons sustained grave injuries in the accident. The injured were identified as Saidul Alam Barbhuiya, Masum Aftar Barbhuiya and Mansad Ahmed Barbhuiya.

Another accident during the day of Eid-ul-Fitr occurred at around 2 in the afternoon. This mishap took place around Lakhipur highway. A Maruti van was travelling at a very high speed from Kalain towards Karimganj. The driver of the vehicle lost control and fell from the bridge in a ditch. A few persons were learnt to have sustained injuries in this accident. However, their identity could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
