State Health Dept to upgrade Dibrugarh University hospital with all basic facilities: CM

Oct. 1: The State Health Department has been instructed to upgrade Dibrugarh University hospital with all basic facilities. Government doctors and nurses will also be engaged to ensure better healthcare for the university faculty, students and other staff. This was stated by Assam Chief Minister Dr imanta Biswa Sarma during his Dibrugarh visit on Friday.

Further, during the day, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in orderto ease traffic congestion on NH-37 in front of Dibrugarh University initiated the construction work of a foot over-bridge under SOPD (G), 2021-22, worth Rs 621.83 lakh project. Government of Assam will sanction an additional fund of Rs 3 crore for adding escalator facilities as well. 

The Chief Minister also stated that a state-of-art convention hall will be built at Dibrugarh. Also, Dibrugarh Jail will be relocated & a Kalakshetra to be constructed at this site. Dibrugarh Library & auditorium will be upgraded too.
