269 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Saturday, 290 discharged & 5 deaths registered
At present, there are 2,135 active cases in Assam
Oct. 16: On Saturday, out of 32,791 tests, 269 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,06,263. The positivity rate in the state is 0.82 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 61 positive cases during the day. Further, on Saturday, 05 more persons died in the state due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state reached 5,944. The recovery rate is 98.45 percent.
It needs mention here that on Friday, 147 persons tested positive in Assam and 01 death was registered.

On Saturday, 290 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 5,96,837 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. At present, there are 2,135 active cases in the state.
Further, during the day, 05 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19. Out of the 05 deceased, 02 are from Bongaigoan; 01 each are from Dhemaji, Golaghat and Nagaon. The death tally of the state now stands at 5,944.
