7 new corona cases detected; tally rises to 3,286 in Hailakandi

18 Oct: 7 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Sunday, taking the total tally to 3,286. Health authorities here disclosed that of the seven positive cases, two have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and five under RT-PCR. Altogether 199 swab samples were taken on Sunday out of which 41 are under RT-PCR and 158 under RAT.

Altogether 1,912 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,175 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases is 92. Eight COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 11 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board.

50 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation. Of the 28,126 RT-PCR samples taken, 25,548 have tested negative. Swab results of 283 persons are awaited. Altogether 97,785 swab samples were taken out of which 28,126 are under RT-PCR and 69,659 under RAT.
