August 10: Assam registered it’s biggest single day spike of 2900 COVID-19 positive cases on Monday. With this, the state tally has gone upto 61,737, out of which, 19, 258 are active cases. Cachar district alone recorded 194 new positive cases on Monday. Further, the state witnessed 6 more COVID-19 deaths, thereby taking the death tally to 151. In a tweet, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Alert ~ 2900 COVID cases detected out of 60425 tests in last 24 hrs Positivity rate- 4.79% Kamrup (M)- 382, Kamrup (R)- 294, Dibrugarh- 250, Nagaon – 200.”
