Himanta calls Rahul Gandhi as ‘Gabbar Singh’

January 12: “The GST is not ‘Gabbar Singh’, but Rahul Gandhi is. They (Congress) stand with Pakistan. They know if Rafale comes to India then Pakistan cannot defeat India in air warfare. He (Rahul) wants to loot and cheat the poor,” said Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday. Sarma was speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s two-day National Executive Council meeting at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. The party event, which began on Friday, was organised with an aim to lay final guidelines for thousands of party leaders for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

‘Gabbar Singh’ is fictional character in the 1975 Bollywood film Sholay. The role of the dacoit ‘Gabbar Singh’ was played by Amjad Khan who used to loot the common villagers.

Recalling his bitter experience during a meeting with Rahul Gandhi when he was in the Congress, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, ” I still remember, during a meeting with him, he (Rahul) was feeding biscuits to his dog instead of listening to Assam woes. Even the children of the country know that the Indian Air Force needs the Rafale. I have no doubt that the Gandhi family will be washed out in 2019 polls.” During his speech, Sarma also listed the BJP’s achievement in the Northeast states.
