Another 10 Covid +ve patients die at SMCH in last 24 hours

May 29: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 28 May to 5 PM on 29 May) witnessed demise of 10 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 10 deceased, 09 are from Cachar district, while 01 of them is from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as:

• Subhabrata Dutta Roy (65) from R.K.Mission road, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 28 May. He, however, died on the same day at 7.56 PM
• Birendra Lal Dey (60) from Durganagar Part-4 in Cachar got admitted at SMCH on 27 May. He passed away at 9.30 PM on 28 May.
• Radha Lohar (35) from Thailu Tea Estate in Cachar took admission at SMCH on 28 May. She breathed her last at 1 AM on 29 May.
• Sudip Dutta (59) from Arun Chanda Road, Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 26 May. He died at 1.05 AM on 29 May.
• Sanabi Bibi (32) from Kaptanpur Part-18 in Cachar district got admitted at SMCH on 27 May. She expired at 8.40 AM on 29 May.
• Husnara Begum (55) from Dakshin Mohanpur Part-7 in Cachar took admission at SMCH on 24 May. She passed away at 8.40 AM on 29 May.
• Arfan Ali Barbhuiya (78) from Saidpur Part-4 in Cachar was admitted at SMCH on 26 May. He died at 9 AM on 29 May.
• Mala Rani Roy (56) from Saidpur Part-2 in Cachar district got admitted at SMCH on 26 May. She expired at 11.10 AM on 29 May.
• Ala Uddin Mazumder (71) from Bhatirkupa Part-1 in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 27 May. He died at 11.45 AM on 29 May.
• Ranjit Kumar Bhattacharjee (72) from Kanakpur Part-2 in Cachar was brought to SMCH on 29 May. Dr Bhaskar Gupta, however, said that the patient was brought dead at SMCH at 11.45 AM on 29 May. He too was positive.
