Assam University family donates Rs 222,800 for Sainik Welfare
সৈনিক কল্যাণে ২২২৮০০ টাকা দান করলো আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবার

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২২ অক্টোবর : সশস্ত্র বাহিনী পতাকা দিবস তহবিলে (আর্মড ফোর্সেস ফ্ল্যাগ ডে ফান্ড) দুই লক্ষ বাইশ হাজার আটশ’ টাকা দান করলো আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবার। গত সপ্তাহে গুয়াহাটিতে সৈনিক কল্যাণ সঞ্চালকালয়ের ডিরেক্টর ব্রিগেডিয়ার পলাশ চৌধুরীর হাতে এই অর্থরাশির চেক তুলে দেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। সঙ্গে ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসের সহ-উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক শিবাশিস বিশ্বাস।

প্রসঙ্গত, প্রবীণ সেনা জওয়ান, শহিদ সেনানিদের পত্নী সহ পক্ষাঘাতগ্রস্ত সৈনিকদের পুনর্বাসনের জন্য বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান ও সংস্থাগুলোকে সহায়তার জন্য কেন্দ্রীয় প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রক এই সশস্ত্র বাহিনী পতাকা দিবস তহবিল গঠন করেছে। দেশসেবায় আত্মত্যাগ করা সেনানিদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়ে এই তহবিলে অর্থ দান করেছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবার। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষাকর্মীদের কাছ থেকে এই অর্থ সংগৃহীত করা হয়েছে।

Way2barak, 22 October :  Assam University family has donated Rs 222,800 to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Last week, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant handed over the cheque of this amount to Brigadier Polash Choudhury, Director of the Soldier Welfare Department in Guwahati in presence of Prof. Shivashis Biswas, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university’s Diphu campus.

Noted that, the Ministry of Defence has established this Armed Forces Flag Day Fund with the objective of assisting Veterans, Widows and their dependents as well as the institutions/organizations created for rehabilitation of paraplegic soldiers.

The Assam University family has donated this amount as a tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country. This money has been collected from the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university.
