Iftar Mehfil Held at Badarpur Press Club with Due Dignity

way2barak, March 17: The Badarpur Press Club organised its annual Iftar Mehfil with due dignity on Monday evening at its office located on ST Road in the railway town of Badarpur. The programme was conducted in a simple and modest manner, with participation from media personnel along with a few invited guests.

At the outset, Press Club Secretary Salim Ahmed highlighted the purpose of organising the Iftar gathering. This was followed by a brief address by Press Club President Jishu Shuklabaidya, who noted that since its establishment in 2010, the Press Club has been consistently hosting Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan. He also mentioned the club’s various social initiatives, such as distributing clothes during Durga Puja, aimed at promoting communal harmony and strengthening unity between different communities. During COVID 19 period and in Flood situation, Press Club did remarkable job to help common people. He further conveyed advance greetings for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Vice-President Saidul Islam stated that although the event was not held on a large scale this year, the club remained committed to continuing its long-standing tradition.

Journalist Ershad Uddin Tapadar, in his speech, emphasised that the spirit of fasting during Ramadan teaches patience and self-discipline. Referring to the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam, he urged people to remain calm and stay on the right path.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Imdadur Rahman Tapadar, Assistant Secretary of Badarpur Masters Games Association, and Firoz Ahmed.

Among those present at the gathering were sports journalist Taz Uddin, Bablu Paul and Jishu Balmiki.

Prior to Iftar, a special prayer for world peace was offered by Ershad Uddin Tapadar. Following the Iftar, participants performed the Maghrib prayer.
