Sri Vyasa Puja and Teacher Felicitation Programme at AUS Auditorium

Way2barak, July 14 : Bharatiya Shikshana Mandal-Assam Visvavidyalaya Samiti organized Sri Vyasa Puja and Teacher Felicitation Programme on July 14 at Premendra Mohan Goswami Auditorium of Assam University. Apart from the Dakshin Assam Prant, this activity of Bharatiya Shikshana Mandal is being carried out in various Colleges and Universities in the country.

The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, General Secretary of BSM-AVVS, which was followed by the floral tribute to the portrait of Maharshi Vyasdev and chanting of Dhaya Bakya and Parthana by Dr. Govind Sharma.

Prof. Niranjan Roy, President of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Dakshin Assam addressed the House and explained various activities of BSM and the purpose of organising the event.

On the occasion the BSM-AVVS felicitated Prof. Rajeev Mohan Pant (Vice Chancellor) for his outstanding contribution in the field of professional education. Prof. Pant gave a well-thought-out speech on how to Indianize the current education system by embracing Indian culture. Prof. Shanti Pokhrewal, Department of Sanskrit, Assam University was invited as a distinguished speaker on the occasion. He enlightened the gathering about the rich heritage of the Indian culture and the importance of Guru Purnima. At the end Prof. Piyush Pandey, President of BSN-AVVS delivered Presidential Address. Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, General Secretary of the Association conducted the programme. Dr. Himadri Shekhar Das, Organizing Secretary of the Association delivered Vote of thanks.

Prof. Suparna Roy, Dr. Jayashree Dey, Dr. Govind Sharma, Dr. Partha Palit, Dr. Amit Kumar Das, Dr. Biswa Ranjan Roy, Rajat Shubhra Pal, Alak Chakraborty, Abhijit Roy, Asim Chakraborty, Dr.Abhijit Debnath, Dr.SubhadeepnRoy Choudhury, Dr. Partha Palit, Angsuman Dutta, Anup Verma, and Students from various departments among others were present on the occasion.
