No new scheme or fund to be sanctioned for paper mill: Centre

২১ আগস্টঃ হিন্দুস্তান পেপার করপোরেশনের কাগজ কল দুটিকে কোনও প্রকল্প বা তহবিল দিতে রাজি নয় কেন্দ্র। বুধবার ভারি শিল্প মন্ত্রকের ডেপুটি সেক্রেটারি অলকা তিওয়ারি লিকুইডেটর কুলদীপ বার্মাকে স্পষ্ট করে এ কথা জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেন, সরকারের সিদ্ধান্ত, আর কাউকে কোনও অর্থ নয়।

চিঠিতে অলকাও বার্মাকে বলেন, হিন্দুস্তান পেপার করপোরেশনের মিলদুটির জন্য কোনও প্রকল্প এখন আর নেওয়া হবে না। এমনকী, ৫৪ কোটি টাকার যে প্রস্তাব দিয়েছিলেন, অলকা তা খারিজ করার কথা উল্লেখ করেন ।

August 21: What seems to be a big nail in the coffin of HPC Paper Mills is the content of a letter written by Alka Tewari, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises to Kuldeep Verma, Liquidator, Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd., Kolkata. The letter written on 21 August, 2019 gave reference to two letters written by the liquidator to the centre on 4 July, 2019.

In those two letters, written to the centre, concern was expressed and a scheme of compromise or agreement from the promoter in terms of Section 230 of the Companies Act, 2013 was sought. In the backdrop of this query, the central government as per its letter dated 21 August, 2019 stated that, “The matter has been deliberated upon in consultation with the relevant Ministries/Departments of the Government of India. It is informed that the Government of India is not able to offer a scheme or an arrangement under Section 230 of Companies ACT ,2013 nor is it in a position to make available the amount of Rs.53 crore

So with this decision, the fate of revival of HPC Paper Mills now seemed to be locked.
