With 111 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 534 on 28 May, 11 deaths registered
Active cases 3,037 in Cachar; 310 patients discharged on Thursday
May 28: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 11.45 PM. As per the latest data, 111 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 534 persons were found positive in the district on 28 May. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 423 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 3,037. Also, 310 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Thursday was 486.
As per the updated data, a total of 7,355 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 422 persons were found positive, whereas 112 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Friday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 9,026 in 2021, whereas during the year, 5,882 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, Suman Choudhury informed that out of the 3,037 active patients:
- 297 of them are admitted at SMCH
- 15 at MH
- 45 at SMDCH
- 41 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
- 13 at CRPF Doyapur
- 23 at Gracewell Nursing Home
- 21 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
- 23 at Valley Hospital
- 19 at South City Hospital
- 01: Jiban Jyoti Hospital
- 10 at Nightingale Hospital
- 38 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
- 2,527 patients are in home isolation.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 27 May to 5 PM on 28 May) witnessed demise of 11 more Covid-19 positive patients including 2 children at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and South City Hospital. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 11 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 03 from Karimganj & 02 from Hailakandi.
The deceased at SMCH were identified as Rajen Ahmed Laskar (40) from Dhanehari, Part-II, Cachar, Dhirendra Chandra Das (72) from Majpara in Karimganj district, Ritesh Kumar (15 months) from Motinagar in Cachar, Ayaz Uddin Laskar (60) from Meherpur, Silchar, Mani Palam Mali (93) from Badarpur in Karimganj, Chandan Paul (63) from Durga Shankar Lane, Ambicapatty, Silchar, Lila Nath (67) from Lala in Hailakandi district, Surajit Singha (39) also from Lala in Hailakandi, Tanvir Jaman (03 months) from Ashimganj in Karimganj district and Dwijendra Chakraborty (78) from Rangirkhari, Silchar.
Dr Sukumar Sinha (80) from Kanakpur Road, Silchar was admitted at South City Hospital on 23 May. He, however, passed away at 11.30 PM on 27 May.
