Daily Flood Report of Cachar District as on 19 June, 4 deaths recorded

A total of 13,259 inmates were residing in 88 relief camps

June 19: Incessant rainfall in the past few days has led to the increase of water level of all major rivers. River Barak in Barak Valley has already on 18 June, 2022. As per the Daily Flood Report of Cachar District as on 19 June, 2022 at 4:00 PM, Katigorah, Lakhipur, Silchar, Udharbond and Sonai Revenue Circles were flood affected. Four persons lost their lives in Cachar district, out of which three are from Silchar Circle. The deceased were identified as Shibu Ree, Chandan Ree, Sajina Begum Choudhury. One person, named, Gautam Rabidas died during the day at Sonai.

The Report stated that a total of 154 villages were affected by flood in Katigorah, 20 villages in Lakhipur, 65 villages in Silchar, 60 villages in Sonai and 14 villages in Udharbond. A total of 13,259 inmates were residing in 88 relief camps opened in various parts of Cachar district, out of which, 5,570 are male, 4,878 female and 2,809 are children.

Katigorah:  A total of 87,108 people were affected by flood in Katigorah, out of which, 3,100 are male, 3,005 female and 26,056 are children. A total of 17 relief camps were opened in Katigorah. A total of 1,962 inmates were residing in these 17 relief camps at Katigorah, out of which, 688 are male, 677 female and 597 children. Further, a total of 9,949 animals were affected there. Due to landslide at Sewti PT-I, a total of 2 numbers Pukka Houses (1 Partially & 1 fully house damaged).

Lakhipur: A total of 2,925 people were affected by flood in Katigorah, out of which, 1,590 are male, 980 female and 355 are children. A total of 06 relief camps were opened in Lakhipur. A total of 108 inmates were residing in these 06 relief camps at Lakhipur, out of which, 53 are male, 38 female and 17 children. Further, a total of 614 animals were affected there. Apart from this, 4 roads were damaged over there. Due to landslide at Lalpani, Total -5 Nos of Houses, 3 Nos of Kutchua Houses Partially, 2 Nos of Pucca House partially damaged due to Landslide. No loss of life was reported.

Silchar: A total of 2,83,390 people were affected by flood in Silchar, out of which, 9,780 are male, 8,400 female and 28,390 are children. A total of 57 relief camps were opened in Silchar. A total of 10,468 inmates were residing in these 57 relief camps in Silchar, out of which, 4,501 are male, 3862 female and 2,105 children. Three persons died during the day. The deceased were identified as Shibu Ree, Chandan Ree, Sajina Begum Choudhury. Further, a total of 2,047 animals were affected there. Apart from this, 4 medical teams were deployed. Rengti Basti, Chibita Bichia Pt-I, Borakhai TE Dhurabond, Choto dudhpatil. Total 15 Nos. Kutcha House fully damaged due to Landslide. In urban Silchar, Link road, National Highway road point, Ambicapatty, Church Road, Chandicharan Road were mostly affected. Due to incessant rainfall, closure of sluice gates, and over-topping of Embankments in many areas in and around Silchar Town.

Sonai: A total of 25,602 people were affected by flood in Sonai, out of which, 11,850 are male, 10,230 female and 3522 are children. A total of 07 relief camps were opened in Sonai. A total of 677 inmates were residing in these 76 relief camps at Sonai, out of which, 310 are male, 285 female and 80 children. One person, named, Gautam Rabidas died during the day at Sonai. Further, a total of 1547 animals were affected there. 09 boats were deployed in which 35 persons and 12 animals were evacuated. Apart from this, 4 medical teams were deployed. At Rajnagar & Ganga Nagar Pt. XIII a House of Tera Mia Barbhuiya, S/o Lt. Kala Raja Barbhuiya damaged due to landslide at Rajnagar Under Sonai Revenue Circle on 19.06.2022 2. Ganga Nagar Pt. XIII Road got blocked due to landslide Under Sonai Revenue Circle on 19.06.2022. Relief materials were also distributed among the flood affected people.

Udharbond: A total of 1,797 people were affected by flood in Udharbond, out of which, 890 are male, 651 female and 256 are children. A total of 01 relief camp was opened in Udharbond. A total of 44 inmates were residing in this relief camp at Udharbond, out of which, 18 are male, 16 female and 10 children. Further, a total of 923 animals were affected there. 04 boats were deployed in which 60 persons were evacuated.  LT Pole Damaged at Kashipur Borogram due to Soil Erosion under Udharbond ESD. Nagadung, Kashia Punjee, Chnadighat.
