684 grams heroine and pistol with ammunition seized, one arrested seized

way2barak, May 27: Based on a credible intelligence, Cachar Police and ARFIU and 38, Assam Rifles launched a special operation against the illegal transportation of narcotic substance at Mohankhal, under the jurisdiction of Kachudaram Police Station and apprehended one person namely, Mangkholum Hmar, 30yrs, resident of Chandikhal, Dilkhush Grant, Lakhipur.
During thorough search, police team recovered 56 soap cases containing suspected heroine from his possession.The total weight of suspected heroine is about 684 grams. One factory made .32 pistol and 19 ammunitions have also been recovered and seized accordingly.

Numal Mahatta SP Cachar says that the  price of seized psychotropic substance is worth about Rs. 3.5 crores in the black market. Seizure has been done lawfully in presence of independent witnesses. During examination drug detection kit showed positive results for heroine. Further investigation into the matter has been on.
