41 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Wednesday, 63 discharged & 1 death at SMCH

There are 413 active Covid cases at present in Cachar

July 7:  A total of 41 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,227 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 40 were found positive, whereas 01 was destected positive in RT-PCR test. Also, 63 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged during the day. At present, there are 413 active cases of coronavirus in the district. It needs mention here that 62 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.

Further, during the day, only 166 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Cachar district. With this, a total number of 4,07,184 persons got the vaccine doses in the district.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 July to 5 PM on 7 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). His detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board.This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Tuesday evening. The deceased from cachar district was identified as:

  • Sunahar Ali (65) from Paikhan, Katigorah in Cachar district was admitted at SMCH on 1 July. The patient, however, passed away at 7.15 PM on 6 July.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 July, there were 102 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 48 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 54 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 10 patients were put under ventilator support and 70 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 15 of them were discharged.
