Sub-committee formed to prepare framework for implementation of all clauses of Assam Accord

Sub-Committee to present its report within a period of 3 months for further course of action

Oct. 2: In a recent development, a Sub-Committee was constituted to examine and prepare a framework for implementation of all clauses of Assam Accord in general with special emphasis on Clause – 6 (High level Committee Report), Clause – 7, Clause – 9 and Clause – 10 along with updation of National Register of Citizens (NRC), issues of flood and erosion, rehabilitation of martyrs’ families and victims’ of Assam agitation and also in regard to the various problems faced by the state of Assam; including the potential for all round economic development. A notification to this effect was issued on 1 October, 2021 by the Government of Assam. The Sub-Committee will present its report within a period of three months for further course of action.

The sub-committee comprises of the following members:

  1. Atul Bora. Minister, Implementation of Assam Accord. Agriculture etc. Department:Chairperson
  2. Pitush Hazarika, Minister, Water Resources, Parliamentary Affairs etc. Department: Member
  3. Ajanta Neog, Minister, Finance. Social Welfare Department: Member
  4. Dipanka Kr Nath, President, All Assam Students’ Union: Member
  5. Sankar Jyoli Baruah, General Secretary, All Assam Students Union: Member
  6. Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharya, Chief Adviser, All Assam Students’ Union: Member
  7. Prakash Ch Das, Adviser, All Assam Students’ Union: Member
  8. Uddip Jyoti Gogoi, Adviser, All Assam Students’ Union: Member
  9. Sujata Suchibrata, ACS, Deputy Secretary to the Govt of Assam, Implementation of Assam Accord Department would act as the Convenor of the Sub-Committee.
