Nandigram googly: Mamata lost the seat to BJPs Suvendu Adhikari; TMC demands recounting

May 2: A great confusion surrounded around Nandigram in West Bengal from where Trinamool Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee contested. Around, 5 PM, news reports came in about Mamata Banerjee winning the Nandigram seat by 1200 votes. However, at 6.25 PM, it was informed that the TMC supremo lost the Nandigram seat by 1622 votes against BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari. Reacting to this, Mamata Banerjee said, “Even after declaring me winner, suddenly the mishap occured. I will go to the courts. But I will accept the verdict of Nandigram with all humility.” However, no official confirmation from the EC has come as yet.
