Finally SEBA & AHSEC cancels HSLC & HS Exams in Assam
Result of the exams will be declared by 31 July
June 18: Ending all speculations, finally the HSLC and HS examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) were cancelled on Friday after a meeting of all the stakeholders with the state Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
As per sources, two committees, one for HSLC/AHM and other for HS will be formed on Saturday. These committees will comprise of eminent personalities who will devise the evaluation modalities for the cancelled examinations.The committees will submit the modalities within a week. This was announced by education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu after an important meeting with several stakeholders on Friday morning. It was further informed that the result of the exams will be declared by 31 July, 2021.
The minister, however, hinted that the marking modalities will be based on the records available with SEBA and AHSEC.
Earlier, amid great unrest and tension among the students as regards the conduct of the postponed HSLC and HS Examinations by SEBA and AHSEC, a major decision was taken on Wednesday by the State Cabinet. The Cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took the significant decision of recommending not to conduct the HSLC and HS exams amidst the prevailing Covid situation.
