World Blood Donor Day observed at SK Roy Civil Hospital, Hailakandi

June 15: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on 14 June, 2021, a felicitation cum Voluntary blood donation camp was organised at S.K.Roy Civil Hospital blood bank, Hailakandi in collaboration with NGOs like SMILE, Jibondan, SFI, Lifeline foundation, Red donor, blood fighter group, Hindu Raksha Dal, Hailakandi. The programme ceremonially began with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Sudip Kumar Chakraborty- Supdt & I/c of SK  Roy Blood Bank in presence of Blood Bank staff & members of participating NGOs.

This was followed by a vountary blood donation camp where 20 persons donated blood. A felicitation programme was also held in the blood bank campus wherein the NGOs and individuals were honoured for being a part of the blood donation movement for the year 2020-21. Hindu Raksha Dal got the award of the best organisation for conducting the maximum number of camps. NGO Smile was selected as the best emergency blood donor group. Jibondan group has been felicitated as the best blood donor e-group. Mithu Debnath foundation was awarded as best VBD camp organizers for 101 unit blood collection in a single camp.

Others who were felicitated are Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum- Hailakandi branch, SFI Hailakandi, Dr.Arif Mazumder, Dr.Sudip Chakraborty Arunavha das Gupta and Nilendu Das, Bonosree Dey Paul. Kausar Siddika, Debadhish Dey, Amit Sen, Ashim Das, Rahatuzzaman Barbhuiya, Arshad Mazumder, Fakhrul Islam , Mashuk Mazumder, Shah Alom Choudury, Bondona Das, Kazi Mehbub Alom , Mondira Das, Purnima Singha, Abdul Monnaf, Faruk Hussan.
