With 38 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 333 on 20 May, 3 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 1,808 in Cachar

May 20: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11.15 PM. As per the latest data, 38 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 333 persons were found positive in the district on 20 May. Earlier, at 6.00 PM, it was informed that 295 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,808. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Wednesday was 465.

As per the updated data, a total of 3,655 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 278 persons were found positive, whereas 55 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Thursday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 5,776 in 2021, whereas during the year, 3,924 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, Suman Choudhury informed that out of the 1,808 active patients:

  • 278 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 10 at MH
  • 22 at SMDCH
  • 43 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 32 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 20 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 14 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 20 at Valley Hospital
  • 06 at South City Hospital
  • 02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
  • 11 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
  • 1,350 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. Thursday witnessed demise of 03 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. All the three deceased are from Cachar district.

The deceased were identified as: Rupak Paul (36) from Masimpur, Cachar, Krishna Kanu (64) from Derby in Cachar and Jahan Ahmed Laskar (46) from Masimpur, Cachar.
