With 31 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 251 on 12 June, 4 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 2,632 in Cachar; 193 discharged on Saturday

June 12: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 11.40 PM. As per the latest data, 31 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 251 persons were found positive in the district on 12 June. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 220 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 2,632. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Saturday night. It needs mention here that on Friday, 311 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 3,940 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 180 persons were found positive, whereas 71 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test.  With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 14,738 whereas during this phase, 11,963 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 2,632 active patients:

  • 216 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 10 at MH
  • 26 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
  • 30 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 20 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 05 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 34 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 15 at Valley Hospital
  • 12 at South City Hospital
  • 00 at Nightingale Hospital
  • 16 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
  • 38 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
  • 2,208 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 11 June to 5 PM on 12 June) witnessed demise of 04 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 4 deceased, 03 are from Cachar, whereas 01 belongs to Hailakandi.

The deceased were identified as: Pushpa Rani Biswas (84) from Nutan Para in Hailakandi, Fakrul Islam Barbhuiya (50) from Dakkhin Krishnapur in Cachar, S Kulachandra (72) from Lakhipur in Cachar and Alauddin Barbhuiya (60) from Baghabazar in Cachar.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 12 June, there were 195 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 82 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 113of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 17 patients were put under ventilator support and 138 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 25 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 28 of them were discharged. Further, 10 of them have opted for home isolation.
