KVS Regional Level Exhibition organised by KV, NIT Silchar
February 1: The Kendriya Vidyala Sangathan (KVS) Regional Level 46th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics & Environment (JNNSME) Exhibition for children was organised on Friday by Kendriya Vidyalaya, NIT, Silchar. A total of 106 students from 21 different Kendriya Vidyalayas of Silchar Region participated in this competition. S.K. Kaiwart, Principal of KV, NIT, Silchar was the guiding spirit behind this unique exhibition.
Prof. Shivaji Bandopadhyaya, Director of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar was the Chief Guest of JNNSME Exhibition. Inaugurating the Exhibition, Prof. Bandopadhyaya laid stress ‘to develop scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform,’ as it is one of the Fundamental Duty of the Indian citizen. Prof. A.K. Barbhuiya, Registrar of NIT, silchar and PIT Raja, Assistant Commissioner of KVS Regional Office, Silchar also graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Six different sub-themes were given to the students to present their exhibits and were judged by 9 distinguished professors from NIT, Silchar and Assam University, Silchar. Finally, 12 students were selected for Science Mathematics models, while 2 students from KV, ONGC Srikona were selected for quiz competition. These shortlisted students will participate in the National Level 46th JNNSME Exhibition to be held in Dehradun.
The different exhibits made the students were indeed a feast for the eyes. The event provided a unique platform for the budding students to express their creativity and give vent to their inquisitiveness.
