Uttaran felicitates educationists, extends financial aid to poor but meritorious students

Dec. 26: This year too, UTTARAN, a socio-cultural organisation of North Silchar has organised its annual (14th) Teachers’ felicitation & scholarship programme on Sunday at Malugram, where three eminent educationists Ajit Singha, Anuradha Deblaskar and Umarani Das were felicitated for their contribution in the field of teaching and social work.

Apart from this, eight economically challenged meritorious HSLC aspirants were given books & HSLC fees.  Uttaran continued to provide annual financial support to two students (Rs.3,600 per head), who are doing their graduation. Three primary level students of a charitable school, Sarvadoy Vidyalaya were also given financial aid.

Meritorious students from economically challenged section of the society were also felicitated for their outstanding academic career. The programme was presided over by Pratima Das Paul, President of Uttaran. Secretary of Uttaran Arindam Chowdhury, members- Babli Bhowmik, Ashok Chaurasia, Shipra Dutta, Kartik Banik handed over mementos and cash amount to the teachers and students.
