NIT Silchar to organise ‘School Genius’ on 19 & 20 October<\১৯-২০ অক্টোবর শিলচর এনআইটিতে স্কুল জিনিয়াস>

October 13: School Genius, an inter school competition for the school students of Barak valley, has been scheduled to take place in the campus of NIT Silchar from 19 October to 20 October, 2019. This competition primarily focuses on the exhibition and development of the technical and management skills of the school students of Barak Valley. It will be organised and managed completely by the students of NIT Silchar and will be brimming with fun, interesting and challenging competitions.

A two-day event, School Genius attracts schools students from all over Barak valley with its fun and innovative competitions. Last year, students from more than 20 schools took part in the competitions under School Genius. This year the number has increased to 25. Many schools from Dhubri, Numaligarh, Lalmati have also participated in the online events this year.

A plethora of competitions are conducted under School Genius, This year School Genius has come up with more than a dozen competitions, There are online competitions like Shutter World 5.0, which is an online photography contest. The themes for this year are ‘Streets and Culture.’

Just DO-odle it, it’s an online doodling competition. Decypher, this event has been added this year, here the thinking ability of the students is tested by challenging them with tricky questions. Then there are events which develops the technical abilities of a student like, Robotics Workshop, Scientific Dig and Xtreme Typing.

To provide a platform to the budding entrepreneurs who want to start something of their own and on their own, there is Startup Buzz. Science Exhibition is one of the most important events of School Genius. This event provides the students a chance to showcase their scientific competence. This event always sees mass competition. This year’s theme is the 3Rs.

Competitions like Spoken Poetry and Spell Bee tests a students literary skills. There are other competitions like Crime Scene Investigation, as you might have guessed from it’s name this event tests the crime solving abilities of a student. Math Pirates, is an event which tests and improves the Mathematical skills of the students.

There are fun events under School Genius where students display their various talents. From dancing to beat boxing every talent is welcome at the stage of School Genius.
