Two new corona cases detected on Wednesday; tally rises to 3,337 in Hailakandi

The number of active cases are 03 in the district

Dec.9: Two fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Wednesday taking the total tally to 3,337. Health authorities here disclosed that one case has been detected under RT-PCR and one under RAT. Altogether 646 swab samples were taken on Wednesday out of which 57 are under RT-PCR and 589 under RAT.

Altogether 1,934 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,311 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases are three with two positive patients under home isolation. Nine COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 14 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board.

Of the 31,032 RT-PCR samples taken, 28,578 have tested negative. Swab results of 141 persons are awaited. Altogether 1,22,997 swab samples were taken out of which 31,032 are under RT-PCR and 91,908 under RAT.
