Two-day “Jatinga bird festival” to begin at Dima Hasao on Wednesday

Sept. 26: It’s indeed a time of celebration for the bird lovers. The two-day Jatinga Bird Festival will begin on Wednesday at Dima Hasao. The theme of the festival is “Conservation and Preservation of Migratory Bird of Jatinga”. Only those who have received either the first or second dosage of COVID vaccines will be allowed to join the festival site due to tight government guidelines.

A musical spectacle with renowned Assamese vocalist Deeplina Deka, as well as local bands and artist will perform during the festival. The festival is organised to raise awareness about the importance of preserving migratory birds that gather to the Borail Range in the winter. This festival started in the year 2010 mainly to promote tourism and awareness about the migratory birds.
