Strictly enforce micro-containment zones in areas with high positivity rate, directs CM to DCs

June 25: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma in the presence of Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah and other senior officials of the state government held a video conference with District Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and District Health Officers on Friday on COVID-19 situation and vaccination status in the districts of Assam.

The Chief Minister issued certain directives following this meeting:

  • After detailed review, the Chief Minister has ordered to strictly enforce the instructions issued in respect of micro-containment zones in areas with high positivity rate.
  • He also instructed commissioners to ensure 100 percent vaccination of all frontline workers as well as strict adherence to social distancing rules in the vaccination camps to prevent further COVID-19 infections.
  • Since Anganwadi workers are in direct contact with infected categories of society, the Chief Minister has directed the Deputy Commissioner’s not to release the monthly remuneration of Anganwadi workers unless they take Covid vaccines.
  • Further, CM Dr Sarma directed the Deputy Commissioners to set up camp offices for Guardian Ministers & Guardian Secretaries for latter’s better handling of their responsibilities during their regular visits to concerned districts.
  • The Chief Minister also praised the district health workers and district administration officials for their role in the success of the mega vaccination camp.
