Thermal scanning to be done at the entrance of all Durga Puja pandals: DDMA
No procession will be allowed on the day of idol immersion
Oct. 9: Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has instructed to arrange thermal scanning and sanitization facility at the entrance of the puja pandals. According to the latest SOP of the Disaster Management Authority, no fairs, cultural activities, etc. can be organized in the vicinity of Pujo Mandap. No temporary pandals can be made on the side of the roads.
A maximum of 40 persons including organizers, devotees and priests will be allowed to assemble in the puja pandals at a time and it is mandatory to have adequate space in the pandal to maintain social distance. Puja organizers must wear face masks and no one will be allowed to enter the puja premises without washing their hands. The organizers have to take care of the facilities like hand washing / sanitation etc. while entering the puja premises. No person with symptoms of Covid will be allowed to enter the puja pandals. Organizers and volunteers must take at least one dose of the vaccine.
If any person or visitor in the puja pandal is suspected to have symptoms of Covid-19, then the organizers of the puja should inform the nearest government health center and arrangements should be made to transfer such persons to the nearest Covid center.
Under no circumstances, any procession will be allowed on the day of idol immersion. The size and height of the idol should be such that the process of desecration of the idol is possible by a limited number of people at the time of immersion.
In order to avoid traffic jam and large gatherings, the Cachar district administration will complete the process of idol immersion within two days. Meanwhile, the instructions of the State Disaster Management Authority regarding Durga Puja has been sent to all concerned by the district administration and wide publicity (miking) has been done across Cachar district.
