Tetanus vaccination programme inaugurated in Cachar
Dec. 14: Tetanus vaccination campaign was formally inaugurated in Cachar at the S.M. Dev Civil Hospital on Monday. District Development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim inaugurated the campaign in presence of Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. P. K. Roy, Additional CM&HO, Dr. Rajat Deb, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Reema Patoa, In-charge of Urban Family Welfare Unit and other officials of the Health Department.
Dr. P.K. Roy in his speech informed that the campaign will continue for three weeks from Monday. He said extra effort will be given to cover the children of hard to reach areas. Dr. Sudip joyti Das, Jt. Director of Health Services urged the parents of 10 years and 16 years old children to come forward and get their child vaccinated.
District Development Commissioner Lalsim expressed happiness over the effort made by the health workers during the COVID period. She hoped that similar kind of effort will be made by the health workers to make the vaccination campaign successful. It was informed that 10 beneficiaries were vaccinated on Monday. Gitosree Shil (10 years) was the first child who was vaccinated during the day.
