Tea stalls, sweet shops, restaurants etc can function only on take away basis in Assam

May 03: All tea shops, restaurants, ice-cream parlours, cooked food outlets are allowed to operate on take away or home delivery basis in Assam in green zones during Lockdown 3.0 till 17 May, 2020. This was stated in an office order issued by the Chief Secretary of Assam on 3 May. Dwelling on this aspect, State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that even sweet shops within the green zones can function, but none will be allowed to sit and dine or eat. Customers can take home the food in containers or tea in a flask and eat them at home. Police will take action if somebody is found to violate these rules.

However, it needs mention that such shops selling tea, sweets, ice cream or restaurants should be stand alone shopsand will be allowed to operate till 5 PM. Curfew will be imposed from 6 PM onwards. Everywhere social distancing should be maintained and people are to wear face masks whenever they go out of their homes.
