Support desk for Northeast Students comes up at Uttaranchal University

way2barak, august 11:– Students from Assam and other North-Eastern States studying at Uttaranchal University in Dehradun will now have a dedicated avenue to seek legal assistance, counselling and institutional support, with the establishment of a Special Cell at the university.

The facility has been created specifically for students from the North-Eastern region and is intended to provide assistance whenever they face situations requiring legal guidance or other forms of institutional support during their academic stay.

The initiative was taken up by the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority and the information has subsequently been circulated by the Assam State Legal Services Authority to ensure that students from Assam and other North-Eastern States are aware of the facility.

For young students living and studying away from home, knowing where to turn when a legal or institutional issue arises can make a considerable difference. The Special Cell will provide students with an accessible channel through which they can seek legal assistance, counselling and related support whenever necessary.

Students from the North-Eastern States enrolled at Uttaranchal University have been encouraged to approach the Cell whenever they require assistance. The facility is expected to serve as a point of contact for students seeking guidance on matters that require legal or institutional intervention.

The move has also been brought to the attention of educational institutions and other stakeholders in Assam so that information about the facility reaches students who may be studying at the university.

The District Legal Services Authority, Cachar, Silchar has appealed to educational institutions, student bodies and other stakeholders to disseminate the information widely among students. The appeal is intended to ensure that students are aware of the support mechanism and can access it when the need arises.

The legal services authorities have also stressed the importance of awareness among students, particularly those pursuing higher studies outside their home states. Timely information about available legal assistance can help students approach the appropriate authority instead of remaining unsure about where to seek help.

With the new Special Cell in place, students from Assam and the wider North-Eastern region studying at Uttaranchal University can now access a dedicated support facility in Dehradun whenever legal assistance, counselling or related institutional guidance is required.
