Summer vacation curtailed & in lieu Puja vacation increased by 5 days in Cachar: IS

July 20: The ongoing summer vacation has been curtailed by 5 days and in lieu the Durga Puja vacation has been increased by 5 days. An order to this effect was issued by Semina Yasmin Ara Rahman, Inspector of Schools (IS), Cachar & District Elementary Education Officer, Cachar on 20 July, 2022.

In her order, the Inspector of Schools, Cachar wrote, “In accordance with the Government notification issued by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Secondary Education Department vide Order No. ASE 22/2016118 dated 6th January, 2018 in respect of Barak Valley, the number of summer vacation holidays should be reduced by five days and in lieu, the number of Durga Puja holidays should be increased by five days. Therefore, the existing summer vacation from 25 June to 25 July 2022 may be shortened by 5 days to allow for a 5-day extension of the Durga Puja vacation. Therefore, the current year’s summer vacation will end on July 20 instead of July 25 in 2022. All concerned are requested to take appropriate action as outlined above.”
