Sudipta Nursing Home starts Rapid Antigent Test

August 18: On Tuesday, Sudipta Nursing Home, Silchar started detection of COVID-19 cases through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). The RAT counter was formally inaugurated by Pranabashish Roy, Director of the Nursing Home. The RAT will be done free of cost.

After the formal inauguration, the staff of Sudipta Nursing Home did the rapid test and all of them tested negative. However, on the very first day, the test report of a person from the locality (Vidya Sagar Sarani) tested positive. This was informed by Dilu Das, health worker employed at Sudipta. It needs mention here that, such a facility was launched a few days ago by Green Heals Hospital, Silchar.

Speaking to way2barak, Pranabashish Roy, Director of Sudipta Nursing Home said, “We are provided the testing kits by the health department, but the PPE kits etc are purchased by us from the market. As we have limited number of technicians, so our screening centre will be kept open till 1 PM everyday. As per protocol, if any person is detected positive, we inform the health department who in turn makes provision of taking the positive patient to hospital. Today, we have tested 8 persons, out of which, one of them tested positive.”
