Students sat for hunger strike near SS College Hailakandi, demands online exam for TDC Final Sem

Sept. 12: On Friday, students sat for demonstration at GC College Silchar in demand of conducting online examination of TDC Final Semester. A day later, students of various colleges in Hailakandi assembled near the main gate of S.S. College, Hailakandi and sat for hunger strike. Their prime demand is to conduct the forthcoming TDC Non-CBCS semester examination in online mode.

Circle Officer of Hailakandi arrived at the spot and went to meet the Principal of the college. Later on a meeting was organised between the students and the Principal of SS College, Hailakandi. Expressing their views, a student who participated in the hunger strike said that the Principal of the college agreed to the demand of the students and sent a letter to the Assam University authorities wherein proposal for conducting the TDC Final semester exam in online mode was suggested.

After getting assurance, the hunger strike was withdrawn by the students. However, the students mentioned that if the university authorities do not agree to their demands, then they will launch a vigorous movement involving all students after two to three days.
