Street vendors in Cachar directed to stop selling products
March 20: To prevent the possibility of outbreak and spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) amongst the inhabitants of Cachar District numerous precautionary measures were adopted by the Cachar District Administration. Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sharma has clamped Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 in the entire district under which all cattle markets throughout Cachar will remain closed and all the street vendors through out Cachar District are directed to stop selling their items with immediate effect until further order.
Non-compliance with the orders will be dealt as per the section specified under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act, 2005. This was stated in a press release issued by Regional Office of Information and Public Relations, Barak Zone, Assam.
