Steep rise! 21 found Covid+ve in Karimganj & 02 in Hailakandi on Wednesday

Jan. 5: Hailakandi is gradually inching towards a Covid free district. On Wednesday, Hailakandi registered 02 new COVID-19 case. The district has altogether has 18 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 466 RAT tests and 144 RT-PCR tests were done. No patient was discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 7,955 (both 1st & 2nd wave).

As of now, a total of 4,510 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 01 person was found positive in Hailakandi on Tuesday. Till date, 51 persons died due to Covid-19 in Hailakandi district.  A total of 2,593 persons were vaccinated on Wdnesday.

There was a sharp rise in the number of Covid patients in Karimganj district. Karimganj registered 21 fresh COVID case on Wednesday. The district has currently 46 active COVID cases, while no patients were discharged on Wednesday. 1,053 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 10 persons were detected positive in Karimganj on Monday.
