ওয়েটুবরাক, ১৯ জুন:– জল নিরাপত্তা ও সমতা নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যকে সামনে রেখে কাছাড় জেলা প্রশাসন এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার জেলাশাসকের নতুন সম্মেলন কক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত জেলা জল ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধান মিশন-এর উচ্চপর্যায়ের পর্যালোচনা বৈঠকটির নেতৃত্ব দেন কাছাড়ের জেলা আয়ুক্ত শ্রীযুক্ত মৃদুল যাদব। জল জীবন মিশন এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট জল ও স্যানিটেশন প্রকল্পগুলির বাস্তবায়ন পর্যালোচনার মাধ্যমে ভবিষ্যতের রূপরেখা নির্ধারণে এই বৈঠক অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ হয়ে ওঠে।

বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কাছাড় জিলা পরিষদের মুখ্য কার্যনির্বাহী আধিকারিক শ্রী প্রণব কুমার বরা,  সহকারী আয়ুক্ত, শ্রীমতী অঞ্জলি কুমারী, এবং জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরি বিভাগ, জনপথ বিভাগ (PWD Roads) সহ একাধিক দপ্তরের উচ্চপদস্থ প্রশাসনিক ও কারিগরি আধিকারিকরা। বৈঠকে জোর দেওয়া হয় একটি সমন্বিত উন্নয়ন কৌশলের উপর, যেখানে পরিষেবা সরবরাহ ও জল সংক্রান্ত কার্যকারিতা ছিল মূল আলোচনার বিষয়।

জেলা আয়ুক্ত মৃদুল যাদব চলতি প্রকল্পগুলির অগ্রগতি ও সমস্যা বিশেষত জল সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থাগুলির অবস্থা গভীরভাবে পর্যালোচনা করেন এবং তা দ্রুত কার্যকর করতে সংশ্লিষ্ট দপ্তরগুলিকে প্রয়োজনীয় নির্দেশ দেন। শহর ও গ্রাম উভয় অঞ্চলের বাসিন্দাদের কাছে নিরবচ্ছিন্ন জল পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দিতে তিনি লক্ষ্যভিত্তিক হস্তক্ষেপের উপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। পাশাপাশি, ২০২৪–২৫ অর্থবর্ষের অন্তর্ভুক্ত প্রস্তাবিত রাস্তাঘাট সংস্কার প্রকল্পগুলির রূপরেখাও খতিয়ে দেখা হয়।

বাল্ক ফ্লো মিটার স্থাপন সংক্রান্ত অগ্রগতি বৈঠকে উপস্থাপন করা হলে, তা থেকে জেলার জল সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থার স্বচ্ছতা ও রাজস্ব প্রজন্মের দিকটি স্পষ্টভাবে উঠে আসে। ‘জল মিত্র’ নামে পরিচিত জলসচেতনতা প্রসারে নিয়োজিত গ্রামীণ সমাজের প্রতিনিধিদের ভূমিকা নিয়েও আলোচনা হয় এবং তাঁদের দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধিতে প্রশাসনের দায়বদ্ধতা পুনর্ব্যক্ত করা হয়।

জেলা জুড়ে পানীয় জল ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধান সচেতনতা বাড়াতে ‘জল উৎসব’-এর কথা ঘোষণা করা হয়, যা আগামী দিনে জনসম্পৃক্ততা বৃদ্ধির এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে কাজ করবে। বৈঠকে নির্মাণ সম্পন্ন প্রকল্পগুলির সার্টিফিকেট ও চূড়ান্ত বিল নিষ্পত্তির অগ্রগতি নিয়েও বিশদ পর্যালোচনা হয়, যেখানে স্বচ্ছতা ও আর্থিক শৃঙ্খলার বিষয়টি প্রশাসনের অঙ্গীকার হিসেবে উঠে আসে।

way2barak, June 19::— In a progressive stride towards building a water-secure and equitable future for the people of Cachar, the District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) held a high-level review meeting at the new conference hall of DC’S office,under the dynamic leadership of Shri Mridul Yadav, IAS, District Commissioner, Cachar. The meeting, held on Thursday, served as a crucial platform to evaluate the performance and strategize the way forward under the Jal Jeevan Mission and allied water and sanitation initiatives.

Attended by senior administrative and technical officials, including Shri Pranab Kumar Borah, ACS, Chief Executive Officer, Cachar Zilla Parishad, and Smti Anjali Kumari, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar, along with senior officers from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE), Public Works (Roads) Department, and other line departments, the session underscored the administration’s integrated approach towards sustainable development.

With a sharp focus on functionality and service delivery, the meeting critically reviewed the status of ongoing and completed schemes, especially the non-functional water supply systems. The District Commissioner emphasized the importance of swift corrective measures and targeted interventions to ensure uninterrupted water access to rural and urban communities alike. The strategic synergy between water governance and infrastructure was also evident as the roadmap for sanctioned road rehabilitation projects for FY 2024–25 was thoroughly examined.

Further, the session provided updates on Bulk Flow Meter (BFM) installations, offering a transparent snapshot of the operational water supply network and its revenue generation mechanisms. The role of Jal Mitras grassroots community water champions was given renewed importance, with discussions centered on enhancing their capacity and accountability in driving community participation and real-time monitoring.

The upcoming Jal Utsav initiative was introduced as a key public engagement effort to instill awareness on water conservation and sanitation practices across the district. The administration also took stock of the status of completion certificates and final bill settlements, reiterating its commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline, and governance efficiency.

Under the leadership of Shri Mridul Yadav, the Cachar District Administration continues to redefine its water governance approach with a people-first mindset.
