Spring issue of ‘Creative Wings’- wall magazine of English Dept of RMC released

Feb. 21: The Department of English, Radhamadhab College, Silchar (RMC) has released the Spring issue of its Wall Magazine, “Creative Wings” on Monday. The programme was graced by the Principal, Dr. Debashish Roy, Vice Principal, Dr. Ashima Roy, IQAC Coordinators in presence of the faculty members of different departments and student community of the College.

Expressing her views, Dr. Arundhuti Dutta Choudhury, Head Department of English of the college thanked the students and the colleagues of her department for their untiring efforts in designing the wall magazine. She said, “The wall magazine reflects the creative zeal of the students which would go a long way in providing an impetus to their creativity.” Speaking during the occasion, Assistant Professor, Arunabha Bhattacharjee said, “May the wall magazine Creative Wings add wings to the imaginative capability of the students, which would reflection in their future strides.”

This was followed by an art competition on the theme “Save our Environment”. Around 14 students participated in this competition. Dr Rahul Chakraborty, HOD, Bengali and Sudarshan Gupta, HOD, History adjudged the competition wherein 3 students of TDC got the awards. It was then that a group discussion on the topic, “Use of English in everyday life was held. 15 students participated in it. Sudarshan Gupta, HOD, History was the moderator of the group discussion. A speech competition was also organised by the English Department during the day.

The programme was followed by the prize distribution ceremony to the winners of various competitions held during the day and the group of students associated with the arrangement of the Wall magazine.
