With 12 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 28 on 25 August, 1 death at SMCH

Aug. 25: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 12 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 28 persons were found positive in the district on 25 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 16 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 111. This was informed by District Media Expert on Wednesday night. Also, 38 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 14 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,752 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 12 persons were found positive, whereas 16 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,626 whereas during this phase, 19,323 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 111 active patients:

31 of them are admitted at SMCH
12 at MH
14 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
08 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
11 at CRPF Doyapur
06 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
02 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
06 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
05 Palonghat Model Hospital
16 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 24 August to 5 PM on 25 August) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as:

• Dilip Deb (50) from Meherpur in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 20 August, 2021. He, however, breathed his last at 5.38 PM on 24 August, 2021.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 25 August, there were 26 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 01 patients were put under ventilator support and 22 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 02 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
