Silchar-Fulartal road to undergo repairs, closure announced for heavy vehicles
way2barak, Sep 4: The Silchar Territorial Road Sub-Division of the Public Works Department (PWD) has issued an important notification for the general public regarding the upcoming closure of the Silchar-Fulartal Road. The road section extending from Bakarsah Mukam Point to Jain Udyog, which falls under the Mukhya Mantrir Paki Path Nirman Achani (Package No. MMPPNA_22_23_386), will be temporarily closed to heavy vehicular traffic. The closure will remain in effect until further notice.
It needs to mention that the road, located within the Silchar Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), is undergoing critical repair and reconstruction work under the Mukhya Mantrir Paki Path Nirman Achani, an ambitious project aimed at improving road infrastructure across Assam. The repairs are essential to enhance the safety and durability of the roadway, which is a vital link for commuters and heavy vehicles in the region.
S.U. Barbhuiya, Assistant Executive Engineer of the PWD’s Silchar Territorial Road Sub-Division, expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the closure. The department assures the public that all necessary measures will be taken to expedite the repair work and minimize disruption to traffic.
Commuters and transport operators are advised to plan their routes accordingly and stay updated on any further announcements regarding the reopening of the road. The PWD urges the public to cooperate during this period of essential maintenance to ensure the long-term improvement of the road network in the area.
