Retd Principal of Hailakandi SS College, MA Karim passes away

June 19: In a tragic incident, renowned educationist and retired Principal of SS College, Hailakandi, Dr Mohd Abdul Karim breathed his last on Saturday night at his Sonai Road residence in Silchar. He died due to cardiac arrest. He was 67.

Dr. MA Karim served as a teacher in the Department of English, SS College, Hailakandi for a considerable period of time. He was the in-charge Principal of the college from 2015 to 2017. He retired from service in 2017.

Dr Karim was also involved in active politics at a point of time. He started his political career first with Janata Dal. Later on, he joined the BJP and adorned various positions in the party. He was also the central Vice President of BJP Minority Cell.

Dr. Mohd Abdul Karim has been survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. His death was mourned by many who were associated with him.
