Silchar District Congress observes 56th death anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru

May 27: The 56th death anniversary of first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was observed with great honour by Silchar District Congress Congress (DCC) at Indira Bhavan, Silchar on Wednesday. The party flag was unfurled by the President of Silchar DCC Pradip Kumar Dey. Thereafter, floral tributes were paid on the portrait of Nehru by DCC, Youth Congress, NSUI, Congress Sevadal, Mahila Congress and other cells and departments of DCC Silchar.

A seminar on the life history of Nehru took place under the presidentship of Pradip Kr Dey, titled “Nehru ji, an Architect of Modern India’. In the seminar, different speakers spoke about the achievements of Nehru in shaping Indian democracy.  Sanjeev Roy, Secretary APCC, Monikanta Sinha, Amitabha Sen and Simanto Bhattacharjee (all senior vice presidents), Sujon Dutta, GS, DCC , Partha Ranjan Chakraborty, Chairman, Silchar DCC Media Department, Rajesh Deb, GS of DCC, Rahul Alam Laskar, GS of DCC,  Mohanlal Das, GS of DCC, Debodip Dutta, Foyjur Rahman Laskar, Sajal Deb, Sanjay Deb and others highlighted the ideologies and different achievements of Nehru as PM of India and his role as a world leader.

Jawaharlal Nehru’s view on India was highlighted by different speakers in the seminar. The concluding speech was delivered by Pradip Kumar Dey, who ultimately concluded the seminar with an appeal to all to follow the path shown by Pandit Nehru during this crisis period.
