Silchar Congress Sevadal President Deepjoy resigns

February 5: In a sudden turn of incident, Deepjoy Roy, President of Cachar District Committee of Congress Sevadal Young Brigade resigned from his post on 5 February. In his resignation letter, Deepjoy cited personal reason for resigning from the post of President. However, he assured in his resignation letter that he would remain as a Congress worker forever.

He also marked copies of his resignation letter to DCC President, Silchar, Pradip Dey and General Secretary DCC, Silchar & Incharge of Sevadal Young Brigade. Deepjoy, however, rubbished allegations of leaving Congress and joining BJP. He said that it is only due to his personal problems that he gave up his post of President, but he still continues to be a primary member of the Congress.
