Shankar Choudhury becomes new President & Tridibesh Secretary of Hailakandi Rotary

১ জুলাই: হাইলাকান্দি রোটারি ক্লাবের নতুন  সভাপতি শংকর চৌধুরী ও সম্পাদক ত্রিদীবেশ চক্রবর্তী বুধবার আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন।

নতুন বোর্ড অফ ডিরেক্টরসও এ দিন ঘোষণা করা হয়৷ একই সঙ্গে বৃক্ষরোপণ সহ কোভিড-১৯ মোকাবিলায় যুক্ত বিভিন্ন সরকারি বিভাগকেও সম্মাননা পত্র প্রদান করা হয়।

সকালে শ্যামলিমা প্রকল্পের অন্তর্গত বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচিতে এসএস কলেজে সামিল হন ক্লাব সদস্যরা। শুরুতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বিদায়ী সভাপতি সমীরণ পাল। সম্পাদকীয় প্রতিবেদন পাঠ করেন বিদায়ী সম্পাদক দেবাশীষ গুহ ঠাকুরতা। নবাগত সভাপতি শংকর চৌধুরী পরবর্তী বোর্ড সদস্যদের সঙ্গে পরিচয় করিয়ে দেন। তাছাড়া ক্লাবে নতুন আরও ৮ সদস্যকে স্বাগত জানানো হয়। উন্মোচিত হয় বার্ষিক মুখপত্র ‘সংকল্প’। অনুষ্ঠানের সঞ্চালনায় ছিলেন এডিটর বিজয়িনী ভট্টাচার্য।

July 1: The 16th Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Silchar was organised on Wednesday maintaining the COVID protocol. The ceremony was held in the premises of Rotary Club Building. On the occasion, Shankar Choudhury and Tridibesh Chakraborty assumed charge as the President and Secretary of the prestigious Rotary Club for the year 2020-21 from Samiran Paul and Debasish Guha Thakurata.

Along with the new Board of Directors, 8 new members were also inducted as new members. Apart from this, a plantation programme was also organised by the club. Rotary Club of Hailakandi also felicitated different government departments who are involved in containing COVID-19.

In the morning, the club members assembled for plantation programme at SS College under its Project Shyamalima. The Installation ceremony began with the welcome speech, which was delivered by the outgoing President Samiran Paul. Debasish Guha Thakurata, outgoing Secretary read out the report of the activities performed during the year 2019-2020. It was then that the new President Shankar Choudhury was introduced with the board members. The annual mouthpiece ‘Sankalpa’ was also released during the day. The programme was compered by Bijoyini Bhattacharjee.
