Foundation stone of youth hostel laid at Daccai Patty, Silchar by MLA Dilip Paul

Jan. 29: “It is a dream come true for the people of Silchar. For this, the people of this town had to wait for 70 long years.” This was said by Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul, while laying the foundation stone of the 1st Youth Hostel of Barak Valley at Daccai Patty, Silchar on Friday. An amount of Rs. 50 lakh has been sanctioned for this project initially under the Sports & Youth Welfare Department, Government of Assam.

In his speech, MLA Paul said that expressed confidence that more fund for this project will come from the state government.The land for the Youth Hostel has been provided by Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) and the construction work will be executed by the Building Division of PWD. The RCC building will comprise of G+2 floors.

Present during the foundation laying ceremony were the President and Secretary of District Sports Association (DSA), Silchar-Babul Hore and Bijendra Prasad Singh respectively apart from ADC cum Executive Officer of SMB Sumit Sattawan along with others.
