Rs.25 lakh collected for Kerala flood relief by All India Mahila Congress

কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রাহুল গান্ধীর আহ্বানে সাড়া দিয়ে কেরলের বন্যার্তদের জন্য ২৫ লক্ষ টাকা  দিল মহিলা কংগ্রেস। সর্বভারতীয় সভাপতি সুস্মিতা দেবের নেতৃত্বে দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে এই অর্থ সংগ্রহ করা হয়। মঙ্গলবার তাঁরই নেতৃত্বে এক প্রতিনিধিদল এআইসিসি কোষাধ্যক্ষ আহমেদ প্যাটেলের সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাঁর হাতে তুলে দেয় সংগৃহীত পুরো টাকা। কংগ্রেস স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিন সহ বিভিন্ন রকমের সামগ্রীও বন্যাদুর্গতদের জন্য সংগ্রহ করেছেন তাঁরা। পৌঁছে দেওয়া হচ্ছে সেই সবও।

প্রসঙ্গত, বন্যার দরুন স্কুল ছাত্রদের চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা, পর্যটন দফতর আয়োজিত ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফিল্ম ফেস্টিভেলের মতো অনুষ্ঠানগুলি কেরল সরকার বাতিল বলে ঘোষণা করেছে।

 

Responding to the call of AICC President, Rahul Gandhi to help the flood victims in Kerala, the All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) collected an amount of Rs.25 Lakh from across India for this purpose. The effort was led by Sushmita Dev, President of Mahila Congress.

On Tuesday, a delegation of the All India Mahila Congress led by its President Sushmita Dev met AICC Treasurer Ahmed Patel and handed over the donation money collected for the flood victims of Kerala. Relief materials in the form of food and sanitary napkins have also been dispatched from various states by the Mahila Congress workers.

The Kerala government in the meanwhile, announced that all celebrations organised in government schools, including the School Kalolsavam (arts festival), International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) and those organised by the Tourist Department, will be cancelled for a year.
